Sandy Austin – Creating Caring School Cultures

As a professional school counselor for 24 years, Sandy Austin has supported students in the aftermath of four school shootings and four suicides in just eight months at another school. Now, as the Executive Director of the nonprofit B.I.O.N.I.C. Team (Believe It Or Not I Care), Sandy empowers students worldwide to create caring school cultures by reaching out to struggling peers—helping them feel seen, valued, and supported to prevent bullying and suicides.

Sandy is an international speaker, an author of three books, and a recipient of two Lifetime Achievement Awards. She is a recognized leader in the school counseling field, having served as President of two state school counseling associations in Colorado and as the Facilitator for the American School Counselor Association’s Crisis Professional Interest Network.

Now, at 33 years old, Aron leads an adaptive lifestyle, thriving as a triathlete, an interviewer, and an advocate for resilience.
